The Maryland Economics Challenge is the premier economics competition for high school students, testing micro and macroeconomic principles as well as knowledge of international economics and current events. Teams of 3-4 students, guided by a teacher or
adult coach, compete to determine the state champion in one of two divisions, based on student’s experience level.
→ David Ricardo Division for first-time competitors who have taken no more than one economics course.
→ Adam Smith Division for returning competitors, AP, International Baccalaureate, and honors students.
Testing: March 17 - March 21, 2025
